Simone Zorzan obtained a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science (2005) and a Ph.D. (2010) in Biotechnologies in Prof. Roberto Bassi's group at Verona University. His Ph.D. thesis on protein-protein interaction dynamics in photosynthetic membrane was performed in collaboration with the group of Prof. Nicolas Le Novère, using the coarse-grained molecular dynamics software Meredys. His research activity then focused on the development of applications and bioinformatic protocols for biological investigations, in particular for high throughput functional genomics and phosphoproteomics.
He is currently a Research Associate at the Center for BioMedical Computation (CBMC) in Verona, applying bioinformatic methods to the study of the neuronal regeneration, B-Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and interspecific data transferability and comparative mapping.
Simone is a visiting post-doc in Nicolas Le Novère’s group, where he will gain experience in the study of Alzheimer Diseases molecular pathways within the AgedBrainSYSBIO project.
